Festac Elephants Top The Medal Table In The Ongoing AmuwoGames 2021

Last weekend, the defending champion in the Basketball area, Festac Bulls, was knocked out of the ongoing 2021 and 3rd Edition of the AmuwoGames. One of the most amazing aspects of this tournament is how many more individuals are becoming interested in sports and how old competitors have improved as the game has become more competitive.

The Festac Elephant Duo, Okoida Akahome, and Nzubechukwu Ananti, took first place in the Chess game with excellent performance. Farouq Nasir of Mile 2 Lions also won a gold medal in the under 13 category. Mr. Bunmi Olape a.k.a Undertaker, a popular international Game Master in the game of Chess, graced the chess competitors with his presence. Mr. Bunmi Olape, who happens to be one of the best in Nigeria at the moment and has toured over 30 countries to represent Nigeria, was overjoyed to see emerging talents filling his shoes and pledged to be fully involved in the future ones.

David Ekpo of the Festac Elephants and Abdullateef Amoo of the Mile 2 Hawks won gold medals in the Scrabble Game’s open and under 13 categories, respectively. The presence of Mr. Emmanuel Egbele, the South-West Coordinator of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation, who came around to grace the ongoing sports event, added spice to the Scrabble tournament.

The participation of the tournament’s sponsors made this weekend’s competitions even more special. Mr. Adewale Oshokoya represented the Olatokunbo Foundation, the Chess tournament’s sponsor, while Mr. Philip Okunaiya represented Dreamrite Inc., the Scrabble tournament’s sponsor. They were overjoyed to be there.

More sports, such as Table Tennis, Snookers, Drought, and so on, are set to be staged this weekend across the specified game sites for competitors and spectators to enjoy, with more medals in stock to be won as the tournament nears its conclusion in the next two weeks.
